John VivianHi, my name is John. I’m one of the owners and a co-founder of CrossFit Toronto.

We’ve been delivering effective fitness training & programming for nearly 9 years now. During that time, we’ve found 4 essential elements that we think everyone should know about.

So, we created a program that helps you quickly improve your fitness, while systematically introducing you to these important training concepts. It’s a free 6-week program to help you get more fit and prepare for more advanced & in-depth training (more on that later).

These are the cornerstones, the key elements needed to build & maintain a fit & healthy body.

What are they? Read on.

  • Cornerstone 1: Awareness

    Awareness is the most fundamental piece to being fit & healthy. We’re talking specifically about body-awareness here.

    Trying to get fit without have any body-awareness is a recipe for disaster.

    Knowing where your body is & how to move it is a fundamental piece to the fitness puzzle.

    We’ll give you some tricks & tips on improving awareness in the initial issues of this program.

  • Cornerstone 2: Quality

    Workouts performed with high-quality movements tend to yield high-quality results. The inverse also seems true.

    We insist that the members of our gym aim to execute movements with the highest level of quality. We want you to do the same.

    Proper technique can make all the difference between getting a little fitter and truly excelling.

    We’ll talk more about how to perform movements properly in each installment.

  • Cornerstone 3: Intensity

    If you’ve heard anything about CrossFit you know that it’s famous for its intensity.

    But did you notice that Intensity is only 1 of our 4 Cornerstones? Why is that?

    It’s because without Awareness & Quality all Intensity will do is get you in trouble.

    Of course, we’ll give you more details on this once you’re on board.

  • Cornerstone 4: Performance

    CrossFit is performance-based fitness. So, like intensity, performance is a major area of focus in the CrossFit world.

    The biggest training benefits come when attention is paid to performance. In fact it can be critical.

    We’ll show you how to measure and track performance over time so you get the most out of your training.

Bringing it all together

Each of these 4 cornerstones enhances the others. Together, they’re much stornger than they would be if any of the others were missing.

However, these must be put in place in an progressive & intelligent manner.
